First of October sets off the National Day of Cyprus, this year Cypriots are celebrating 49 years since they gained their independence. On this special occasion, the Hilton Hotel in Bucharest hosted a reception that had as attendees, Cyprus and Romanian personalities from business and political environment, such as: His Excellency, the ambassador of Cyprus, Mr. Spyros Attas, His Excellency, the Ambassador of Greece, Mr. Georgios Poukamisas, the President of The Bilateral Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Mamas Koutsoyiannis.

 

Two days before the National Day, Mr. Koutsoyiannis awarded an interview for the Nine O'Clock magazine in which facts about the situation of Cyprus investments in Romania were stated, as well as the events organized this year by the Bilateral Chamber of Commerce and Industry Romania-Cyprus, commercial trade between Cyprus and Romania.

Cyprus is proud of being the 5th foreign investor in Romania with a turnover of more than E 1,2 Billion, more than 4000 Cyprus societies activating in Romania hoping that their dynamic presence will be of help in these financial and economic crisis  times.
